"With every brushstroke, I am able to express myself more honestly than I can with lines alone."
Strokes are allowed to exist on their own, without justification—just like emotions, just like people. “My Saree Project” is not about ownership of the saree— it is a way of carrying language, of draping identity, of making the invisible—visible. I begin by crafting my motifs digitally, developing a personal vocabulary of form and emotion. Urdu Typography holds both control and freedom for me, a structure that invites me to either stay within or break through. In that tension lies the pulse of my practice. The Urdu script has been a constant companion, a quiet romance I’ve nurtured for years. It is not about nostalgia or intellect but about presence.
